I write non-fiction essays, articles, and profiles. I focus on books, the arts, social issues, food and wine, and poking holes in conventional wisdom.
I've published with Bookforum, Electric Literature, the Village Voice, The Fanzine, 3:AM Magazine, the Washington Post, Refinery29, Bustle, The Rumpus, The Billfold, The Frisky, Greenpointers, the Soundings Review, and the Mentone Special, among others.
I'm the Editorial Director for the Triangle House Review—our first issue is coming in January 2018.
Most recently, I moderated a panel for the 25th anniversary of The Secret History at the Powerhouse Arena. I've read at Whom Wants to Cry, Lips, Teeth, Tongue: An Evening of Food and Sex Literature, the Catapult Student Reading Series and the LIT Reading Series in Brooklyn, as well as the VAMP Showcase by So Say We All in San Diego. In September 2016 I spoke on the panel "Communication Strategies to Shift the Culture of Workplace Violence" at the Reimagining Workplace Safety conference presented by United Way and Futures Without Violence.
I am available on a freelance basis to provide research assistance for journalists and literary writers, editing and critique for narrative manuscripts, and content creation for arts organizations. I'm happy to provide references and a list of past projects.
